Main Street Workshop Presentation - Exploring Enhancement Opportunities

Recently, some Leonardtown business owners attended the Main Street Workshop on Exploring Enhancement Opportunities presented by Tim McGilloway of Mahan Rykiel Associates who specializes in landscape architecture, urban design and planning.

This presentation focused on ways to visually excite shoppers to draw them into their store or retail office by way of developing small, yet noteworthy ways of complementing or transforming, their façade, making landscape improvement while applying the desires and resources of their business.

Public Art Proposal for Mural - Town of Leonardtown

The Town of Leonardtown’s Arts and Entertainment District, in conjunction with the St. Mary’s County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council is seeking proposals from professional muralists/painters interested in creating a mural to be painted on the north concrete wall of the Hair Company Building in Leonardtown, MD that reflects the history and revitalization of the Leonardtown waterfront.

The winning proposal/artist will create a mural/murals that are appropriately durable for an outdoor installation, and they can be abstract or representational.  Several sample pages of murals of the styles that the committee has considered as possible models are attached for example only.

Also included are photos of the historical waterfront as well as the Leonardtown Wharf waterfront today.

For more information, budget page download, and to see site location photos, mural styles and photos of Leonardtown's waterfront go to http://www.stmarysartscouncil.com/2018-public-art-project.html.
