Fair Summary of Ordinance No. 211 and No. 212  

Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners of Leonardtown have passed, and the Mayor has approved, Ordinance No. 211 – Development Impact Fees and Ordinance No. 212 – Late Fees for Delinquent Utility Accounts.  A fair summary of the ordinance will follow:

Ordinance No. 211 – Chapter 62.  Development Impact Fees. An ordinance for the purpose of:  increasing the amount of wastewater impact fees payable upon the issuance of occupancy permits in the Town of Leonardtown.

Ordinance No. 212 – Chapter 150 – Water and Sewer of The Code of The Town of Leonardtown.  An ordinance for the purpose of amending § 150-18 (Payments and Charges) of the Code of Leonardtown to provide for a late fee for delinquent utility accounts.

Ordinance No. 211 and Ordinance No. 212 - will become effective October 31, 2022.  Full text of this ordinance may be obtained at the Town Office at 22670 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or on-line on the Town’s website at www.Leonardtown.somd.com

Public Art Project - Request for Proposal - Deadline: Monday, October 17, 2022 by 4:30 p.m.

Town of Leonardtown - Public Art Project

Request for Proposal 

The Town of Leonardtown’s Arts and Entertainment District is seeking professional artists interested in creating two (2) metal archways as public works of art to be installed over Washington Street at the intersection of Courthouse Drive and one over Fenwick Street near 41685 Fenwick Street. The winning proposal/artist will create the pieces that are appropriately durable for an outdoor installation.

Timeline:

Monday, October 17, 2022 – Application deadline (received by 4:30 pm) to address below.

Monday, October 24, 2022 – Grant proposal is submitted to MSAC

Prior to June 30, 2023- Installation complete

Selection Process:

The Leonardtown Public Art Committee will evaluate the submissions. The projects will be evaluated based on the following: artistic merit – based on the criteria listed above, appropriateness of budget, visual impact/visibility, and structural soundness/durability of the project. An artist may be selected directly from the initial submitted applications or the committee may elect to invite a short list of finalists for further interviews.

MOVED - Town Council meeting to Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.

 The Town office will be closed In observance of Columbus Day and the Town Council meeting, scheduled for Monday, has moved to Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. with a Workshop on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.  See the attached agenda.
