NEW RESIDENTIAL WATER AND SEWER RATES
Effective October 1, 2011, in town residential customers will be billed for their water and sewer use based on their metered water consumption. Meters will be read and the billing will still be prepared and mailed on a calendar quarter basis. The first consumption based bill will be mailed on or about December 30. For most customers, the previous 3 invoices included consumption data that can be used to calculate what your bill would have been using the new rates. You can also call the town office if you need assistance with this calculation.
WATER RATES
Minimum charge $30.00 per quarter; includes -0- to 10,000 gallons of water
Extra consumption $ 2.50 for each thousand gallons, or fraction thereof, over 10,000 gallons
SEWER RATES
Extra consumption $ 5.89 for each thousand gallons, or fraction thereof, over 10,000 gallons up to a maximum sewer charge of $135.43

ADDITIONAL YARD DEBRIS HURRICANE RECOVERY
On Monday, September 12 Goode Trash Service will collect certain yard debris from residents within the corporate limits of Leonardtown. Limbs and branches need to be bundled and cut to 4 foot lengths or shorter. No logs will be accepted. If you want to use this service, please make sure bundles are curbside by 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Additionally, any extra large debris that was or is unable to be collected or handled by Goode Trash Removal on Monday will be collected later that week by another contractor with larger capacity equipment.
If you are not sure whether you live within the corporate limits of Leonardtown, please call the Town office at (301) 475-9791.
We appreciate your patience as the crews have been extremely busy helping to collect and clean up as quickly and efficiently for all residents following this devastation created by Hurricane Irene.
