NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ORDINANCE NO. 219
THE COMMISSIONERS OF LEONARDOWN
Notice is hereby given that the Council (the “Council”) of The Commissioners of Leonardtown (the “Town”) will hold a public hearing to consider an Ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of general obligation debt in one or more series in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $6,000,000.00 (the “Bonds”) to be issued under the State of Maryland’s Local Government Infrastructure Financing Program, pursuant to the authority of Sections 4-101 through 4-255 of the Housing and Community Development Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, as amended (the “Act”). The purpose of the Bonds is to provide all or a portion of the funds necessary to (i) finance, reimburse and/or refinance all or a portion of the costs of two separate projects generally referred to as the Meadows at Town Run Water Storage Tank Project and the Meadows at Town Run Well, (ii) fund reserves, and/or (iii) pay or reimburse costs of issuance and other related costs of the Bonds, subject to the further provisions of such Ordinance.

The public hearing is required by the Act. The Ordinance may be passed (i) as introduced or (ii) as amended, either at the Council meeting held on the same day as and following the public hearing or at a subsequent Council meeting.
Pursuant to the Act, (i) the Ordinance will become effective upon its passage by the Council and its approval by the chief executive officer of the Town and (ii) the qualified voters of the Town have the right to petition the Ordinance to referendum within 20 days after it is passed by the Council in accordance with the provisions of Town Charter Section 211.
