St. Mary's County Historical Society Open House Dec. 12

The St. Mary's County Historical Society is hosting an open house to celebrate the refurbishment of the first floor of Tudor Hall (thanks to Bond Bill funds), as well as to hold a sneak preview screening of Maryland Public TV's new program, Chesapeake Collectibles. It will be held on Sunday, December 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Tudor Hall. The MPT-TV sneak preview will occur at 3 p.m. Representatives from MPT will be in attendance. And, we understand there will be press coverage from the Baltimore Sun as well as the two county papers. This is a chance to tour historical 18th century Tudor Hall and its exhibits, festively decorated for the holidays, as well as to see the sneak preview for this new and exciting program that will begin airing on Channel 22 on January 8, 2011. Patterned after the Antiques Roadshow, the program will concentrate on the history of artifacts specific to the Chesapeake region. This is a cooperative effort between MPT and county historical societies.
