Weekend Events 9/14-9/15

This coming weekend is loaded with activity, so come out and enjoy the Fall Festivities!

Saturday 9/14 – 9 a.m. - Father Andrew White Walk for the Poor

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the School and the Walk starts at 9:00 a.m. and proceeds though the streets of Town.  Roads are not closed for the event, but traffic may be delayed to allow walkers to cross Washington Street and Fenwick Street.  Non-perishable food items and monetary donations gratefully accepted.  For more information call Patty at 301-904-7990 or visit www.walkforthepoor.com

Saturday 9/14 – 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. - Fall Follies Craft Show in the Square, hosted by St. Mary’s Craft Guild
The event will feature a colorful array of homemade crafts and goodies – start your holiday shopping early with creative gift ideas for the whole family!

Please note: For event safety, the Upper Square – Washington Street between Fenwick Street and Park Avenue - will be closed to through traffic between 7 AM and 5 PM.  All other roads will be open.

Sunday 9/15 – 12:00 noon – 4:30 p.m. - St. Mary’s Chamber of Commerce Taste of St. Mary’s

Come sample the culinary delights of St. Mary’s County at this year’s Taste of St. Mary’s.  For a small fee you can sample everything from seafood to dessert from 18 different restaurants and caterers all within walking distance.  For more information contact the Chamber at 301-737-3001.

Please note: For event safety, most of the Square between Fenwick Street and Park Avenue, as well as the area in front of the Post Office - will be closed to through traffic between 9 AM and 7 PM.  Inbound traffic on Washington Street will be re-directed up Shadrick Street to Lawrence Avenue or down Fenwick Street to Courthouse.

Handicap parking for events is located in the parking lot behind Corner Critters and in the Courthouse Parking lot.
