Our condolences to the Family and Friends of James Walter Neal

A Mass of Christian Burial for James Walter Neal will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

As a note to residents and those conducting business in Town: We anticipate an increase in traffic on Washington Street in the vicinity of St. Aloysius Church and Father Andrew White School as the many people Walt touched come to honor him.  Firefighters will be on hand to help direct traffic, but there may be delays entering and exiting Town Square between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.  Because of his faithful service to the Rescue Squad, there will be several emergency vehicles stationed on Church Street, which may be closed to through traffic, if necessary, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Drivers are encouraged to detour via Lawrence Avenue and Shadrick Street if possible.
A life-long resident of St. Mary’s County, faithful employee of St. Mary’s Hospital, Army Veteran, Charter Member of the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, and organizer of the Annual Tractor Parade in Leonardtown, Walt peacefully departed this life on February 5, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM, Rescue Squad prayers to follow at 7:15PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s P.O. Box 625 Leonardtown, MD 20650, and/or the Leonardtown Vol. Rescue Squad P.O. Box 299 Leonardtown, MD 20650.
