The Town of Leonardtown will hold its Town Council meeting on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. with a Workshop held on Wednesday, June 9, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

Two public hearings are scheduled to be heard:

4:15 Public Hearing-Ordinance No. 208 Adopting the Budget and Setting the Real Property Tax Rate for FY2022

4:30 Public Hearing-Ordinance No. 209-Update of Comprehensive Plan-Future Growth Area Section

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Commissioners of Leonardtown will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at the Town office at 22670 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive comments on Ordinance No. 209 - Comprehensive Plan Update to amend the future growth area section.

An ordinance for the purpose of: amending the Future Growth Area segment of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan to accommodate a possible annexation of 95.79 ± acres of land on Newtowne Neck Road.

All interested parties are encouraged to attend or to submit written comments by 4:00 p.m. on June 14, 2021 to: leonardtown.commissioners@leonardtownmd.gov or mail to The Commissioners of Leonardtown, P.O. Box 1, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Special accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities upon request.

NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING

The Commissioners of Leonardtown will hold a public hearing on Ordinance No. 208 - Adopting the Budget and Setting the Real Property Tax Rate for Fiscal Year 2022 on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 

4:15 p.m. at the Town office at 22670 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive comments on Recommended Budget and Setting the Real Property Tax Rate for Fiscal Year 2022. 

Copies of the recommended budget will be available on June 1, 2021 online at http://leonardtown.somd.com or copies located at the Town Office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The public is invited to attend or send written comments by 3:00 p.m. on June 14, 2021 to:

Fair Summary of Ordinance No. 206

Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners of Leonardtown have passed, and the Mayor has approved, Ordinance No. 206 – Streets and Sidewalks. A fair summary of the ordinance will follow:

Ordinance No. 206 - An ordinance for the purpose of amending Chapter 128 (Streets and Sidewalks), § 128-3 of the Town Code for the purpose of providing that no sidewalk, alleyway or roadway or private entrance or exit to or from said sidewalks, alleyways or roadways within the corporate limits of Leonardtown shall be obstructed in any manner, except with the permission of the Mayor and Council first having been obtained.

Ordinance No. 206 - will become effective May 31, 2021. Full text of this ordinance may be obtained at the Town Office at 22670 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or on-line on the Town’s website at www.Leonardtown.somd.com
