End of Summer Bash returns to Leonardtown

LEONARDTOWN, MD — The End of Summer Bash is less than two weeks away, and it’s the perfect way to spend your Labor Day weekend with family and friends in beautiful Leonardtown!

Join the Leonardtown Business Association and the Town of Leonardtown on Saturday, September 5, from 5 p.m. until dark at Leonardtown Wharf for an evening filled with live music, great food, drinks, trolley rides, fireworks and more.

The evening will feature live music from South Creek and HydraFX from 5–8:30 p.m., followed by a spectacular fireworks display over Leonardtown Wharf to close out the summer in style.

Come hungry and enjoy great food and drinks while taking in the beautiful waterfront atmosphere. Free trolley service will also be available to help guests get up and down Wharf Hill throughout the event.

The End of Summer Bash is FREE and family-friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket, find a spot along the waterfront and settle in for a fabulous evening in Leonardtown.

Assistant Town Administrator Position Available 

The Town of Leonardtown is accepting resumes for a full-time Assistant Town Administrator position.  Leonardtown is a fast-growing and active Town with great opportunity for potential professional growth for this position.  Responsibilities involve complex professional, administrative and management duties in providing daily oversight of ongoing town activities and requires strong leadership skills.  

The Assistant Administrator will work directly with the Mayor and Town Administrator overseeing the day-to-day operations of Town Government. 

A degree in public administration or related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training is required.  Individuals with knowledge of municipal management and municipal government programs will be given priority.  The minimum annual starting salary is $100,000 and will be based on experience.

Town of Leonardtown is seeking a Wastewater Technician/Operator Trainee

 Wastewater Technician/Operator Trainee

The Town of Leonardtown is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Technician/Operator for a waterfront community with a growing population of 5,000 residents.

This position involves operations and maintenance work in the Town’s newly expanded Wastewater Treatment facility, as well as, Water System and Public Works Department. 

WWTP Operator 5A and Water 1 License preferred.  A valid driver’s license and availability for rotating on-call flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays are required.  Salary depending on experience. Full-time from $59k/year for licensed individuals and from $45k/yr for non-licensed individuals. Excellent benefits.

Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners of Leonardtown have passed, and the Mayor has approved, Ordinance No. 234 amends Chapter 62, “Development Impact Fees,” of the Code of the Town of Leonardtown to establish a public school impact fee for new residential development in the Town. The Ordinance establishes a fee of $2,135 per new home or townhome, to help defray public school infrastructure costs attributable to new residential development. The fee does not apply to residential developments restricted by recorded covenant to residents age 55 and older.
